Those commenting that the Clinton Administration tryed to make nice with our enemies and therefore that is what the Democrats will continue to do have not taken into consideration that since the Bush Admistration has been in office they have made every other country in the World our enemey. So that would be just too big a job of nice even for the dems.
Any country that can be considered our enemy today weren't our friends a decade ago. That is a silly, uneducated argument. The Bush Administration has just made our enemies stand up and be counted. Clinton never forced their hand. I would (a) rather know who our enemies really are so we can deal with them appropriately and (b) prefer not to kiss up to our enemies so they will like us more.
We hadn't attacked anyone and weren't in Iraq when the terrorists hit us on 9/11. They haven't become our enemies because anything we've done, but because of their own twisted ideology. And by trying to play nice to them, as the Democrats are apt to do, we embolden them rather than make them play nice.
